Gobelins Paris and Escuela Escena announce animation short film incubator program at Annecy 2025

As part of the Annecy 2025 Animation Festival, GOBELINS Paris and Escuela Escena unveiled a unique collaboration: the Animation Short Film Incubator Program, set to launch in January 2026 in Mexico.

This initiative aims to open new doors for young Mexican creators, sharing GOBELINS’ expertise and know-how in developing animation directors, while also fostering the creation of original IPs in Mexico.

For Escena students, this program will be offered as part of their graduation options, at no additional cost.

ANIMATION INCUBATOR STRUCTURE

Throughout the program, participants will focus on the creation of an original short film in three stages:

Pre-production
Scriptwriting, concept art, storyboarding, and animatic.

Production
Workbook, layout, scenic elements, animation, and sound design.

Post-production
Compositing, final image, music, and sound editing.

CLASSES AND FACILITIES

The program will take place in a specially designated building on Escena’s campus in Mexico City, featuring instructors and mentors from both GOBELINS and Escena. Together, they will guide students and professionals through the process of creating an animated short film.
